The College has a number of resources to support your wellbeing which you can access via the central Health & Wellbeing webpages.
Evidence has shown that good wellbeing and good management go hand in hand. Promoting wellbeing within the team can help prevent stress and create positive working environments where individuals and organisations can thrive.
Within FoE, we would like to encourage Line Managers to hold confidential 1-2-1 wellbeing check-ins or conversations with their teams to help identify any factors that are contributing to poor overall wellbeing (such as the COVID-19 pandemic; intensity of your workload; the demands of specific environments e.g. the rate of exposure to distressing or traumatic events; and other influencing factors outside of the workplace). The aim of these conversations is to build a strategy to manage the impact of these factors and to take appropriate action to reduce the negative effects of stressful working environments moving forward.
These are informal conversations that should take place regularly. The check-in framework will give a guide on topics to cover for those for whom having such conversations might feel daunting, and can also be used as an Action Plan to agree and review any practical support that may be required.
We have also created email footers highlighting various wellbeing support available across College which you can download from this page.
